Factors of chemical reaction Can be caused by several
things:
A. Happened by burning
B. Mixing of substances
C. Occurred due to electricity
A. Chemical
reactions Occur due to burning
For burning without external ignition,
see spontaneous combustion. For vehicle engines, see internal combustion
engine.
Fire generated from combustion fuel
Burning 'is a sequence of chemical
reactions between a fuel and an oxidant, accompanied by the occasional heat
production accompanied by light in the form of a fluorescent or flame.
In a complete combustion reaction, a
compound reacts with an oxidizing agent, and the product is a compound of each
element in the fuel with the oxidizing agent. Example:
The standard reaction enthalpy for combustion
of methane at 298.15 K and 1 atm is -802 kJ / mol.
Another example:
A simpler example can be observed in
combustion of hydrogen and oxygen, which is a common reaction used in rocket
engines, which produce only water vapor, with a standard enthalpy reaction at
298.15 K and 1 atm being -242 kJ / mol.
In the majority of daily burning, oxygen
(O2) oxygen is obtained from ambient air and resultant gas (flue gas, flue gas)
from combustion will contain nitrogen:
As can be seen, if air is the source of
oxygen, nitrogen covers a very large part of the resulting chimney gas.
In reality, the burning process is never
perfect. In a flue gas from carbon burning (as in coal combustion) or carbon
compounds (such as in combustion of hydrocarbons, wood, etc.) will be found in
both unburned carbon and carbon (CO and other) compounds. If combustion at high
temperatures using air (containing 78% nitrogen), then a small amount of
nitrogen will react to various types of harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx)...
b. Chemical
reactions occur due to mixing of substances
Chemical reactions can also occur due to
mixing of two or more substances that produce new substances. as an example :
C. Chemical
reactions Occur due to the flow of electricity
Giving an electric current to a
substance may change the properties of the substance temporarily or
permanently. Some substances can decompose if the flow of electricity. This
process is called electrolysis. For example, water electrolysis. Water when
powered by an electric current in the electrolysis will decompose into oxygen
and hydrogen gas.
Chemical reactions
through the electrolysis process in everyday life for example the process of
copper plating of copper by gold or silver. This process is known as electro
